Chops Lascalles
The British surfing community as a whole is very saddened to hear about the passing away of Pete Chops Lascalles , a great friend and influence to many . Big names and characters in the surfing world like Pete you expect to be around for ever ; and although his loss will leave a big hole in the St Agnes community his legacy will live on. People like Chops are not forgotten.

Chops was a really good shaper and his shapes for Tris surfboards are amongst the most sought after 1970s UK boards. They look great and surf great and will be cherished for many years to come. Here are a beautiful pair made by him in '79 and '81.

The shot from France of Chops getting barrelled was taken when the worlds where on in "80" this bank just started rattling off there where only two guys making the the Barrels Tom Curren and Chops Both Champions and legends....
