Recent boards

Here's a couple of boards I just picked up, a nice early 80s quad and a late 80s Kamikaze thruster. The quad is 5'8 x 19 3/4 and is a Stanton shape for Erich K designs ; this name isn't familiar and it turned up no results on google - does anyone know more than google on this one ? The Kamikaze is by mutley and dated 1989 , in good nick with original deck pad and stickers, I like the fins; its 6'6 x 19 1/2.

  1. YES! I Actually worked for Erick Kaufman in Hermosa beach during the early 80's. Great guy, he also had a very cool shop that competed with Becker surf and E.T. surfboards as well as Spyder surfboards all in the same town. Erick K was a super cool bro that sponsored many of the Hermosa beach locals like Chris Barrela and of the likes....

  2. Tom Stanton moved his shaping to the area of Carlsbad or Oceanside, Ca. Erich had a great shop or shops after he moved above California Beach. Too bad they did not keep it together.

    2. True, but Erich was a great guy who I would have loved to see stay in the game. After EK, he just disappeared from the Earth as they say.

    4. I rode the arrow noses a lot in the middle 80's. I always loved the written line "Arrow, Foiled for Flight." Tom loved shaping the arrow noses.
