How a surfboard was made in California in 1970, with a guest appearance from Woody Allen (not surfing though that would be interesting..)
Blowning foam was a well kept secret in GB at this time, but this video reveals most of the process; except of course the mix of chemicals needed . And that was the problem: strength and consistency varied so much from one blank to another . Some of the smaller maker`s blanks had voids in them which were only found as you cut into the foam. Then much of the artwork on a finished board came about through trying to hide the defects .
