Unusual Town and Country with great artwork dating from about 1985. Its shaped by Neil Perrow who is now based in Perranporth , not sure where he was when he shaped it but I'd guess the board was made under European licence from T&C Hawaii.
I love the deck design , its original and under the glassing, a cross between graffitti and Jackson Pollock ! The deck also has a textured finish from the cloth, an alternative or an aid to wax ?The underside has a gloss finish and some nice neon 80s stickers. The dimensions are 5'11 x 19 1/3 x2 1/6.
I also have one neil perrow made in south africa. Do you know shaper Roger Cooper? I have two boards of him
ReplyDeletehi yes Roger Cooper has shaped in Wales since the early 70s, theres some of his boards on the blog
ReplyDeleteWondering if anyone is interested in buying my Neil Perrow T&C surfboard? Pretty blue & silver swirly design. St Ives, Cornwall
ReplyDeletei have one board of roger cooper, a twin 1970 1980
ReplyDeleteI also had a Neil Perrow T&C snapped it within a week. I think he was Durban based while in S.A. not 100% sure about that though. That was around 88,89 when the shapers went wafer thin and huge rocker. Funny how us West Coast surfers thought of the Durban shapers at the time that the boards were not tough enough for our waves LOL . Until I got my first Safari man he Spider Murphy is like the Al Merrick of South Africa. From wave one the board was just right.
ReplyDeleteNeil is still going strong. I road one of his new shapes a few weeks ago. One of the best boards I have ever ridden. Small subtleties in through out the board, but all together just genius 👌
