January 18th is officially supposed to be the most depressing day of the year in the UK , but I had a great day - the sun shone, there was a bit of surf and I picked these boards up very cheap. The shortboard is an early 80s Best Ever twin fin by Martin Wright in St Agnes, and the hollow bodied bellyboard is a Unicorn Surfrider , painted with an iron cross motif, 1940s or '50s.

In 1994 when i was 16 i did my work experience with steve bunt at best ever, he had mark hills shaping some boards at the time. He was a great laugh to be with and showed me a lot about boards and board making at the time!
