I still remember the first time I saw North Shore, it was on tv one saturday morning and I sat as a young grom glued to it and loving every minute. Back in those days there was virtually no surfing on tv in the UK.
It was hugely influential to me at the time, and I loved the clip shown below, when Rick gets to work his way through Chandler's quiver from ancient koa wood boards through to singles, twins and 80s thrusters. It could even have been the defining moment that sparked my board collecting; I wanted to experience lots of different boards.
